Ascension 2008

The week of Ascension Day proved to be very busy. On the Tuesday we were priviledged but sad to have the burial service for Bill Fosh conducted by Cécile in our garden. He was a faithful member of our congregation along with the rest of the family. There was a good attendance of friends wanting to support the family at this sad time.

The Ascension Day service was well attended. We were pleased to have with us as the preacher Mother Anne Verena of the Community of Jesus the Good Shepherd. Cécile was a member of that community for 12 years until she joined C.G.A. The Ascension Day service was started soon after we arrived here as an opportunity for people from all the chaplaincies to meet together and we were happy to greet a number of people from elsewhere. The sun shone and we were able to enjoy our picnic lunches afterwards.

The Sunday after Ascension was a Sunday when we normally have a service and once again the sun shone and we were able to be outside. Cécile has now gone for a well-earned rest to the caravan along with Alto. We shall both be there for two weeks after May 20th. The Rev John Horner and his family are house sitting for us and so there will be a service here on the first Sunday in June.

Alto Alto our poodle and Nicholas our siamese cat are much loved members of our family and so I include photos of them. Sadly our 17 year old Faine recently had an accident and died. Nicholas
